I Love My E-TRAC
E-TRAC

About 5 years ago, I purchased a used Lobo metal detector. I have wanted a detector for years, so needless to say I was
happy to finally get one. I thought it was working alright, I was able to find some interesting things… lost toys, a
few coins, parts & pieces of some unknown items.
Then approx. 6 months ago, I met a man, Bob McGinnis, and we started
to discuss metal detecting. To my surprise, he told me that he owned a business for metal detectors. (This was nice, because
I’ve wanted to upgrade to something new). He then mentioned, that he and his friend were always looking for more people
to help on big hunts. Of course I thought that would be great to go out of my area to dig for Civil War relics. My only issue
was using the old Lobo detector on the dense soil of the site we were to hunt.
I just happen to get in touch with Bob
prior to an upcoming hunt, and I told him I was going to see if I could borrow a White detector, to improve my chances of
locating any relics. It worked okay; I found some pretty cool stuff… lots of horseshoes, couple modern bullets, and
a saddlebag hook. However, I was keeping my eye on the numerous other hunters that were using Minelab E-TRAC’s, and
the items they were finding. (WOW!) I knew now, what my new detector was going to be!
Within a week or two of my return from this hunt, my Lobo quit working. So I called Bob at Fort Bedford Metal Detectors,
and ordered my Minelab E-TRAC. A couple weeks later, I had it and was practicing in my yard, getting familiar with the settings.
I just couldn’t get over the ease of learning the sounds, the settings and the information it gives. Not to mention
the computer program that comes with it, so you can adjust your settings to match other hunters’ successful programming.
I
was out using my E-TRAC the next day, and was able to access permission to hunt a property. I could not believe this; my very
first hit, I dug, I found a Civil War 3 lb. Cannonball. Within 6 hours that day I found the cannonball and 36 bullets. Over
the next couple of days, I had found a total of 76 bullets.
You could call it luck, or a nice hot spot, either way
I wouldn’t have found them without my Minelab E-TRAC. I love my E-TRAC, thanks Minelab!

It All Changed When I Got My E-TRAC
E-TRAC

I have been metal detecting for 6 years in Southern Nevada. It is tuff detecting here because the area is not that old
and the soil is mineralized. I have used several name brand detectors and only found 1 silver coin and 4 wheat pennies during
that time. That statistics all changed this last year when I got my E-TRAC.
With the E-TRAC this last year I dug 6483 clad coins, a total of 54 lbs of coins to be exact. I dug 16 wheat’s
and 4 silver coins. As for rings I dug 52 of them. 2 were gold rings, one of witch was a 10K and weighs 32g.The second gold
ring was a man’s wedding band with 4 small diamonds. As for the Silver, Pewter and Stainless rings, the total was 23.
When I detect I use some of the factory patterns and a couple of custom patterns that I made myself by scanning targets
into the detector. I have revisited sites I have been at before and found coins on edge at depth of 9 inches deep. In high
trash sites the E-TRAC easily ignores the Junk and indicates the desirable targets. I’m truly amazed by the capabilities
of the E-TRAC.
