Last year while working out of Waynesboro Pa. I was
lucky enough to meet a couple that own 10 acres of ground along a Confederate Retreat route from Gettysburg. We had never
done any real Civil War Relic Hunting before. Just by luck I have found some Civil War Union Buttons and a Nice Breast
Plate at Local Taverns or Farm Fields. Our hosts said the property has been hunted by other Relic Hunters for at least 20
years. They had missed a few items that the E-Trac and Explorer uncovered. It was an unbelievable feeling to recover this
Confederate "I" Button. Also recovered were some dropped minnies, Musketballs, .45 cal Pistol rounds and my personal favorite
part of a smashed Canteen. I also found 3 Indianhead cents together but it was post war as 2 of the I.H.s were 1865. We hope
to make at least one more trip there before the forest grows up too thick. The story of the battle can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fight_at_Monterey_Pass Happy Hunting, Bob

The Woolen Mills
Circa 1803 built along the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. It operated through the First World War and made wool
blankets for the Army. A restoration project was started by the Ed and Phyllis Wallace, The Mill and land along
the river we donated by them for a park. The Park includes a walking trail and canoe launch. All finds of Historical Significance
to the Mill are being cleaned and preserved for the museum that will be opened someday as part of the project.

House Built in 1815

We were invited to hunt an old house by a customer and now hunting buddy D.F. This place is so cool. We
figured that place was built 1850-1880 by the style of it. When I asked the guys to stand for a picture as I was looking through
the view finder I saw the cut stone they were standing by had the date 1815 carved into it. I think there was an earlier house
that either burnt or was built around. This place is amazing. Loaded with Springs and Spring houses. Much of which will have
to wait until next Spring to hunt.
